How do you deliver delight to your customers?

“If people like you they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.” — Zig Ziglar

Isn’t this the ultimate challenge for every company and organization out here? To have, not only the audience’s attention but also their trust, so that they can get more conversions around their product or services. It all comes down to getting the message out, to be as convincing and trustworthy as possible, with the hope that the audience will “get it”, get curious and make the decision to buy whatever is on offer.

So the ever-pressing question becomes; why don’t they?

Most business owners, entrepreneurs and marketers are probably under the impression that they are doing their best given the circumstances, tools and assets they have to make things happen, and I am sure that many of them are thinking what Warren Buffet once so famously said: I know that 50% of my marketing efforts works, I just don’t know which half it is. In this content-saturated world, we are living in, where more or less every one of us is a content creator, it takes strategy, skills and a brand to make things happen… let me explain.

What does it take to not only have the audience’s attention but also have them trust you?

Well, it comes down to a few key components… Every brand nowadays needs to be a good storyteller; the brand narrative has to be based on the foundations of the brand so that the emotional connection is there. Secondly, it comes down to consistency; how do you deliver the narrative, in a relevant, honest, transparent, emotional, and engaging way… and the final component? And this is the hard one… you have to delight them!

How?

Well, think about it… depending on the brand narrative you’ve created it can come down to price or discounts, or it can be about lifestyle and affinity, or it can be new product development or offering that elevates their life in some way. And that is a key, essential insight. It is not about you — it is about them. At the end of the day, a brand is a person’s gut feeling about a company, product or service. But if you consistently deliver and delight them, then they will trust you, and then they will do business with you.

So now I want to challenge you. How do you deliver delight to your customers?

Is it about price, quality, innovation or anything else? Let me know, just hit that reply button — I’d love to hear from you.
